Enjoy an adrenaline adventure of ziplining over the Costa Rica rainforest canopy

Ziplining in Costa Rica can be one of the most thrilling eco-adventures to be had.

A little patience and a willingness to explore make it easy to appreciate Costa Rica’s legendary biodiversity.

It takes a little more daring, though, to discover the hidden ecosystems of the rainforest canopy. If you’re up for an adrenaline rush, ziplining is the way to see life in the treetops.

During your stay at Croc’s Resort Casino, try one of these 5-star (TripAdvisor) zipline tour operators in and around Jacó.

  1. El Encanto Waterfall or Canopy Zipline tour is a 5-star tour at The Ranch at Ocean Park near Jacó. The tour takes you along waterfall canyons and through rainforest canopy with 1.2 miles of double steel cables and 8 platforms. They save the best for last: a 2,000-foot plus cable lets you glide for approximately one minute before you arrive at the last platform. You can choose for the waterfall or canopy zipline, as well as add a horseback tour of the ranch to sample some of the ocean views.
  2. About an hour’s drive south of Jacó, another 5-star tour is El Santuario Canopy Adventure Tour, near Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. Great views of the Pacific Ocean come with more than 4,300 feet of cable on 10 lines. Soar over, under, and through the rainforest canopy between 14 platforms, including a double cable where you can race your friends to the platform. Other activities include 3 nature walks, 6 hanging bridges, and a rappel system. The bonus at El Santuario is the educational value; you learn a bit about the rainforest and Costa Rica’s biodiversity.
  3. Chiclet Zipline is in Playa Hermosa, just 5 minutes from Playa Jacó. Fourteen cables stretch along the coastline at the mountain’s edge, just 1,000 feet from the beach. This is another 5-star-rated zipline tour that can take you hurtling through the treetops at speeds up to 30 mph.
  4. Also rated 5 stars, Costa Rica Waterfall Tours begin with a 15-minute tractor ride up the mountain overlooking Herradura Bay. To get back down, simply zip down the 12 zipline cables, going from treetop platform to treetop platform.
